Shock Collars | Photos: Fleet Week Air Show 2011
This year’s air uncover during Fleet Week was a special one. Why? Well, according to a pointy photog at this past weekend’s air show, the air conditions constructed startle collars (i.e., Prandtl-Glauert singularities), something the occurs as dampness condenses in high-pressure regions on an aircraft. Or something similar to that. Photographer Bhautik Joshi explains how he prisoner the startle collars:
These are not cinema of planes violation the sound blockade – the shockwave of the craft creates high-pressure zone in that dampness condenses producing the pleasing but transitory startle collar, as seen above.
The tidy thing here is that you can use flattering walking camera rigging – in this case, a criterion 7D with the low-end 70-300mm lens – to neatly takeover a few spectacular, transitory earthy effects.
